Meigs Creek Watershed Tour:
On October 17th, the Friends of Lower Muskingum River held its annual watershed tour in the Meigs Creek subwatershed. Despite the cold weather (barely above 32 degrees), everyone who participated had a great time learning about the history and environmental working going on within this area. Special thanks to American Electric Power for providing lunch and to all of the watershed tour’s presenters.

Make a Difference Day:
On October 24, Marietta College and the Friends of Lower Muskingum River partnered to host a trash clean-up and garlic mustard pull at Kris-Mar Woods for Make a Difference Day. Brenda Lazarus, FLMR’s OSM/VISTA, worked with a group of Marietta College’s McDonough Leadership Program to organize the event. In total, 20 Marietta College students spent 3 hours pulling garlic mustard and picking up trash in the area of Kris-Mar Woods next to Glendale Road. The highlight of the event was when a neighbor stopped by to thank the students for their hard work in the woods.
