Giving Thanks

We want to give special recognition to Duke Energy for their $5,000 donation to Friends of Lower Muskingum River. These funds will be used to help support continuing water quality efforts in the Meigs Creek Watershed. Meigs Creek is a tributary to the Muskingum River located in Morgan, Muskingum & Noble Counties.

We also offer a special thank you to FLMR member George Hausser for his substantial contribution which will help with future land acquisition to preserve habitat and green space along the Muskingum River.

We would like to thank all of our new & renewing members for their support in our effort to make our river a cleaner, better place to live, work & play!

Thanks also go out to all of the many volunteers that have participated in our projects over the past year: Marietta College Circle K Club for helping with a trash clean up at Indian Acres Park, Marietta College students participating in Community Service Day Garlic Mustard Pull at Kris Mar Woods and trash clean up at Pioneer Shopping Center, Mr. Woods & Mr. King and the Warren High School students working to clean up the Devol's Run Preserve for their Community Service Day, all of the FLMR volunteers who have spent countless hours working to eradicate the invasive Ailanthus trees at the Dana Island Preserve, as well as all the FLMR volunteers working to keep the Luke Chute Conservation Area trails mowed, invasive plants removed, tearing down the outbuildings and always making new improvements. Keep up the great work!

Thank you to Dave & Sandy Blount for the donation of office furniture and to Sam Powell for helping Dave bring the furniture over!
