Environmental Incentive Quality Program

The USDA - Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is taking applications for the 2009 Environmental Incentive Quality Program (EQIP). EQIP is a voluntary conservation program for farmers to treat soil, water and related natural resource concerns for their working lands.
EQIP has been very successful in Washington County over the past 10 years - 202 EQIP contracts have been developed in the county with $1.7 million paid in incentive payments. This program can provide incentive payments for conservation practices over a 3-year contract period.
Applications or additional information is available at the NRCS-Washington Soil and Water Conservation District on SR 676 or by calling 373-4857.
